Like many other providers I started out "just babysitting."
After a while I realized that I really was enjoying what I
was doing, and that I had grown beyond being "just a
babysitter." I started looking into the licensing process in
the fall of 1998 and completed it in 7 months, receiving my
state license May 3, 1999. In 2002 I earned
the Wisconsin Infant and Toddler Professional Credential and
in July, 2004 I earned my Associate’s Degree in Early
Childhood Education.
I have been a
member of the Child Care Advocates Council for 9 years,
having held the positions of President, Secretary, and
Historian. I am a member of the Wisconsin Family Child Care
Association, serving as the Vice President and Conference Coordinator, as well as chairperson of the website committee. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Early
Childhood Association, the National Association of Family Child Care and the National Association for the Education
of Young Children.
I regularly attend the
WFCCA and WECA State Conferences and have presented workshops on organization, make & takes, and sharing the memories of your child care, and making the most of conferences and trainings, at conferences as well as for local organizations.
Recently I began selling some of my game designs and organizational items at various conferences as well as online. My items can be found at www.tootsiestidbits.com
